Enjoy an Unforgettable Farm Stay in Cameron Highlands

When you visit Cameron Highlands, you have several types of accommodation to choose from. Typically, you can choose to stay in one of the many hotels or apartments that are found around the towns and villages in highlands resort. Alternatively, you can now also choose to experience a farm stay in one of the farms in Cameron Highlands.

One such farm that you can experience this is at Mr. Ng Ching Chau's farm, which is very conveniently located near the popular Kea Farm Market Place. Just imagine waking up in the morning and coming out of your room and seeing right in front of you, not more than 10 feet away, a beautiful farm with cabbages, carrots, leeks, tomatoes or whatever Mr. Ng may be planting at the time of your visit.

Mr. Ng has 4 double-bedded rooms, which can accommodate 2 to 3 adults each and a large family unit that can accommodate 6 to 8 adults.

The rooms are simply furnished, clean and each has an attached bathroom. There is an electric kettle for you to boil water and make your own coffee or tea.

You can also cook your own simple dinner right outside your room. With the cool weather, it can be quite an enjoyable experience. Mr. Ng's vegetable farm is located right outside the rooms and depending on what he is planting at the time of your visit, you may be able to buy fresh cabbages, leeks, tomatoes and many other varieties of fruits and vegetables and Mr. Ng usually allows you to choose and pick the vegetables yourself.

If you do not mind the simple farmer's lifestyle, then a short farm stay might be a great experience for you and your family!

When is it the best time to visit Cameron Highlands?

So you may be planning a trip to Cameron Highlands soon. You may also be wondering what time of the year would be an ideal time to visit the highlands resort.

Although I may be bias in my considerations when it comes to visiting Cameron Highlands since I consider this place as my favorite place on earth, I think I can be of help to suggest to you when you should not consider going to Cameron Highlands.

The beauty of the highlands resort is in its peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. So I think when you visit there you may want to enjoy that peace and quiet feeling of the mountains.

So ideally you do not want to visit when the highlands resort is crowded with other holidaymakers making the towns and villages congested not only with people but also with heavy traffic too.

And when does this happen?

Well below are the times when the crowd can be a bit overwhelming and so not the ideal time to go there:

1. All festive season periods. These include Christmas and New Year, Chinese New Year, Diwali and the major Muslim holidays.

2. During the school holiday periods, especially over the weekends during such periods.

Other than the above periods, it should fine to visit Cameron Highlands, especially during weekdays.

As far as the weather is concerned, it is typically cool with a temperature range of from 18 degrees Celsius to 24 Celsius, even though it may tend to be raining more often towards the end of the year.
